My name is Alvaro Cox. I completed my Ph.D. in Economics at Yale University in May 2024. My primary research topic is the intersection between Macroeconomics and Development Economics. In particular, I focus on the role of human capital in inducing firms' growth.

I will have the opportunity to be a full-time researcher at the Department of Economics at the University of Oslo during the academic year of 2024-25. Starting in June of 2025, I am thrilled to join the Department of Economics at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid as an Assistant Professor.
